Common questions about the Bridge addon.
The Bridge addon requires Blender 4.0 or higher. Blender 3.x is not supported due to API changes in the Extensions system. We recommend upgrading to the latest Blender version for the best experience.
Yes — the Bridge addon is completely free and open source. You'll need a free Asset Kit account to browse and download assets, but the addon itself costs nothing.
Partially. You need an internet connection to search and download new assets, but previously imported assets are cached locally. Enable Offline Mode in preferences to work with your cached library without a connection.
You can check for updates directly in the addon preferences, or download the latest version from this page and reinstall it via Edit → Preferences → Add-ons in Blender. Your settings and cache are preserved across updates.
By default, assets are cached in your system's temp directory. You can change the cache location and set a maximum size (default 2 GB) in the addon preferences under Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → Asset Kit → Cache.
Yes. Models are imported with full PBR material setups. Textures are automatically connected to the correct shader nodes. You can toggle auto-material application in the addon preferences.
Absolutely. The Bridge includes a built-in upload panel. Select meshes, fill in metadata (title, tags, category, pricing), and publish directly to the marketplace without leaving Blender.
